Mother’s Day is one of the most emotionally complex Sundays of the year. For every woman celebrating with her children, there is another sitting quietly through a grief no one else in the room can see. At Superstition Foothills Baptist Church in Gold Canyon, we want every woman who walks through those doors, whether she is on the peak or deep in the valley, to feel genuinely seen. This year, we’re honoring all five seasons of womanhood.
The landscape of womanhood is rarely flat
Living in the shadow of the Superstition Wilderness, we know that trails are rarely smooth. Motherhood and womanhood in every form follow the same rugged geography. There are sun-lit peaks, but also hidden valleys, unexpected shadows, and rocky terrain that no one warned you about.
Too many Mother’s Day services are planned for one person: the woman for whom everything is going well right now. When that’s the only voice in the room, everyone else quietly disappears. We don’t want that to happen on May 10.
“Once the invisible feel seen, the entire mountain range can participate in worship.”

Five seasons we are honoring this Mother’s Day
What to expect at our Mother’s Day service
Our Sunday service on May 10 is designed to hold all five of these seasons at once. We will celebrate the joyful peaks with sincerity. And we will name the valleys without flinching, because we believe that when the invisible feel seen, the whole room can worship freely.
Joining us from Apache Junction, Queen Valley, or elsewhere in the East Valley? Here is everything you need to know:

Our promise to the East Valley
At Superstition Foothills Baptist Church, we believe all five seasons are represented every Sunday. Our goal for this Mother’s Day service isn’t simply to honor the “happy mom” demographic. It’s to create a space where every woman in the room, whether she’s celebrating, grieving, waiting, hurting, or quietly pouring herself into others, walks away knowing she belongs here.
We will celebrate. We’ll have a Mother’s Day Photo Booth to capture memories with your loved ones. And we will acknowledge the tension, because real worship makes room for the whole mountain range.
Come as you are, whether you are on the peak or deep in the valley. You are seen, you are welcome, and you belong here.
