If you have been searching for a church in east Mesa and have not quite found the right fit, you are not alone. A lot of families in the east Valley are in exactly that spot. What we want you to know is this: a short drive east on the 60 puts you in a place that a lot of people are glad they found. Superstition Foothills Baptist Church is in Gold Canyon, about 20 to 30 minutes from east Mesa, and people make that drive every Sunday because they have found something worth coming back to.
What Sunday Morning Looks Like
We meet multiple times throughout the week. On Sunday mornings we have Worship at 9:00 AM and Bible Study at 10:30 AM. We also gather midweek for Women’s Bible Study on Wednesday mornings at 10:00 AM, Evening Prayer on Wednesday evenings at 6:00 PM, and Thursday Evening Bible Study at 6:00 PM. Whether you are an early riser or need a little more time to get the family out the door, there is an option that works for you.
The atmosphere is casual and relaxed. You will not feel out of place in jeans, and you will not be put on the spot. Pastor Timothy Jennings leads our congregation with expository Bible teaching, which means we work through books of the Bible verse by verse, letting the text set the agenda. Our worship style is blended, drawing from hymns and contemporary songs, and it is led with care and sincerity.
Most Sundays, you will leave feeling like you actually learned something and that someone was genuinely glad you were there. That is what we are going for.
Kids and Families
We know that finding a church that works for your kids matters just as much as finding one that works for you. At Superstition Foothills, children’s ministry is free for every family, and we use the AWANA curriculum to give kids a solid foundation in Scripture in a way that is age-appropriate and engaging.
We serve children from infants all the way through Grade 6. Our volunteers love kids and take this ministry seriously. You can drop your little ones off knowing they are in a safe, caring environment while you focus on the service.

The Kind of Church We Are
We are a Baptist church, and we hold to the historic Christian faith, but we want to be clear about something: there is no pressure here. Whether you have been a Christian your whole life, you are somewhere in the middle of figuring things out, or you are just curious and want to see what church is all about, you are welcome to come and take it at your own pace.
We are a smaller congregation, which means people actually know each other’s names. It also means that when you walk through the door for the first time, someone will notice and say hello, not because it is a protocol, but because we are genuinely glad to have you.
The teaching is serious and substantive without being stiff. Pastor Jennings brings warmth and clarity to the text every week, and the goal is always to help people understand what the Bible actually says and why it matters for everyday life.
