Tim Jennings
Superstition Foothills Baptist Church, Gold Canyon, AZ
Timothy Jennings has served as Lead Pastor of Superstition Foothills Baptist Church in Gold Canyon, Arizona, since 2018. Initially stepping in as interim pastor during a season of transition, Tim quickly recognized God’s call to lead the church full time. Since then, he has faithfully shepherded the congregation through a season of renewed vision, intentional outreach, and spiritual growth.
“I believe it is every Christian’s responsibility to use their God-given gifts through the local church to help others know and follow Jesus.”

Calling and Role
As Lead Pastor, Tim preaches weekly expository sermons, provides biblical counseling, oversees weddings and funerals, and partners with ministry leaders to align every area of the church with its mission. Whether he is guiding strategic goals or simply sitting with someone in need, Tim approaches every task with compassion and purpose.
Tim’s ministry journey began early. He committed his life to ministry at age 14, was preaching that same year, and was licensed at 18. With over two decades of hands-on ministry experience, he has served in roles ranging from church administrator to youth pastor to church planter. He has launched over ten house churches, led apartment ministries, planted Sanctuary Church at Arizona State University’s Polytechnic Campus, and facilitated countless outreach events including community block parties, prayer walks, and local pet appreciation days.
Background
Tim holds a Bachelor of Science in Communications from Arizona State University and has participated in extensive ministry training through the Southern Baptist Convention, the Valley Rim Southern Baptist Association, the Arizona Southern Baptist Convention, and the North American Mission Board.
His professional development includes specialized training in relational evangelism, church planting, youth and collegiate ministry, and leadership. Tim is also a digital strategist who helps other ministries succeed online and remains active in the Southern Baptist Convention and The Lighthouse Network as a church planter.
He has spoken at youth conferences, led breakout sessions for pastoral leadership, and has been featured in Portraits magazine and foster care podcasts sharing his family’s adoption journey.
Beyond the Pulpit
Tim and his wife Sara were married in 2011 and became adoptive parents in 2017 after fostering their two daughters for nearly three years. Their family’s journey through foster care and adoption has shaped Tim’s pastoral heart and informed his advocacy for vulnerable children in the community.
Outside of ministry, Tim is a former MMA coach for Arizona State University, a Muay Thai fighter, a dog lover, a desert tortoise enthusiast, and a proud ASU sports fan. He coaches his daughters’ softball teams and formerly taught P.E. at Faith Christian School.
