Easter Is Over, What’s Next?
Easter is one of the busiest seasons for a church. From Palm Sunday to Good Friday and Resurrection Sunday, the weeks leading up to Easter are exciting but very busy. Oftentimes, churches will pause, take a breather, and wait until Summer to make their next big push. It is like they put their efforts on cruise control. This kind of thinking is very problematic. Following Easter, churches should ramp up their efforts to continue spreading the message of hope, love, and forgiveness to the world. The resurrection of Christ is not just a one-day celebration, but a reminder that our faith and commitment to serve others should be ongoing and steadfast.
That is exactly what Superstition Foothills Baptist Church is going to do! We are keeping our focus. We will continue to share that message of hope, love, and forgiveness with our community in Gold Canyon, the East Valley, Arizona, the United States, and across the world.
What Are We Doing As A Church In Gold Canyon, AZ?
What are we going to be doing as a church in our community? We aren’t slowing down, that is for sure! Our Sunday services at 9:00am will continue to have the same focus and effort that we put in during the Easter season. The gospel message, which tells of Jesus leaving His rightful throne in heaven, coming to earth, living a perfect life, being betrayed, beaten, executed, buried, and resurrecting to defeat our sins, will be preached with the same fervency as before. Our praise and singing portion of our services will still be spirit-filled. We will press forward in love as we fulfill our duties as Christians to share the gospel with all of the nations in Gold Canyon.
Our church-wide Sunday School Bible Study will still meet after Sunday’s worship service. Vern is doing a great job unpacking the scriptures.
Our Men’s Breakfast fellowships will continue to take place once a month. The men in our church will still be gathering on one Saturday of every month and enjoy some great time of fellowship, learning about the scriptures, and how we can serve our church better as men.
Our weekly Men’s Bible Study will continue to meet. They will continue to unpack the scriptures in a deep and meaningful way.
Our Women’s Bible Studies will still be meeting on Wednesday mornings from 10:00-11:30. They will continue to dive deep into the Word of God to explore just how amazing He is and what He desires from us as His children.
Our church-wide Thursday Bible Study, led by Ina Benz, will continue to unpack what the Bible has to say and what it means for us today.
We will be continuing to serve our community through our monthly prayer walks. If you haven’t heard, we have been going into the different neighborhoods in Gold Canyon and praying for our neighbors. We pray for them using context clues if nobody is outside and if we do encounter people, we have been stopping and asking specifically what they can use prayer for. By doing this, we are not only meeting people in our community and telling them about our church but we are also serving them – even if they never step foot inside of our church building. We must always remember that the commands given to us by Jesus were always to GO. We are not called to stay stagnant and require them to come. We must go! We must go into our neighborhoods, into our city of Gold Canyon, and everywhere else we have reach.
We will help meet the spiritual needs of the children in Gold Canyon and the surrounding areas by having Vacation Bible School from June 5-9, 2023. There, the kids will sing songs, learn biblical truths, make crafts with a spiritual lesson, play games, and worship together as they learn about how amazing God is.
And we will continue to look for more opportunities to serve and be ACTIVE in our community. Remember, the harvest is plentiful but the workers are few. Will you join us as we look to serve Gold Canyon, Arizona, the United States of America, and the rest of the world? It’s going to be a blast!
I have a niece and her son who have recently moved to Gold Canyon. They are not Christians. I have read about your church on line and feel it would be just right for them.
Do you have any teenagers who worship there. My great-nephew is 16.
Hello Lois! Sorry for just seeing your message. We do have a handful of teenagers that worship with us and are continuing to grow.
